The anti-Semites and Catholics rejoiced in their newspapers at his death. They speak bitterly of tho departed novelist. The Pope exclaimed, " Zola wa3 the churches' enemy; ho was frank. God rest his soul."
Loxdo.v, Tuesday. Widespread regret at tho death is shown in Britain and Italy owing to Zola having championed Dreyfus.
