James Maher, licensee of tiie Oxford Hotel, at the Magistrate's Court this morning was fined ten pounds and costs . for keeping a barmaid employed after eleven p.m. . Auckland, Tuesday. The Health Department has issued a circular to all doctors, asking for information and details of the epidemic of sickness, apparently of toxic origin and apparently on tho increase.
