Harry Palmer reports as follows :— There Ip still a keen demand for good pigs, the demand far exceeding the Bupply. We bed a moderate yarding on Saturday, and good prices were realised. Small weanere, 7s 6d to 9a 6d ; suckers, 5s ; young etore bows, 20s. Poultry finds a ready sale at remunerative prices to sellers; ducks, laying hens, and cockerels being especially sought after. No doubt, the advent of the show is influencing the market to a great extent. We quote:—Table cockerels, 3s lid to 4s lOd; ether sorts, 8s Sd to 8s Od; young hens and pullets, 4s to 6s 9d ; mixed and inferior sorts Ss 6d upwards, These were all cross-breds; a few linos of pure,breds fetched $ high price, bat these do not indicate the general market value; ducks, 5a Sd to--5s 7d; turkey?, hens, 8s fid.

We alto quote private sales during the week of the following lines, being outside owners:—2o pairs ducks at 5s fid, 1 pair brown Leghorn hens at 10s pair, 8 gobblers 7s fid each, trio of Langshans £2 2s. We have orders for 100 pairs laying hens, but owing to tbo keen local demand we aro at present unable to supply. The market for potatoes is at present dull, that is for large orders, the local prices remaining about the same. Pig potatoes are scarce, prices being 3s to Ss fid sack. We have inquiries for farmers' bacon and apples. Onions arc selling at IJd lb, and the supply js getting Bhort.. AH fowl feed at firm pricoß.
