At the Eduction Board this morning. Mr W. Ferryman gave no;ic3 fo move that tho Board,, having given the Government's capitation grant of lis 3d por head ono year's trial, it is painfully conscious of its insufficiency to mco*, the demands, and prays that the Government will at.once increase the amount to 12s per head. Owing to the scarcity of teachers to fill the smaller salaried positions, the Board has decided to relax one of its rules as to the length of servico in certain *posi*ions beforo applying for higher positions.
A resolution was passed, hoping that the proposed Educatiou Board's Conferences will not be allowed to lapte, was carried.
