Mr Field gave notice to ask the Government whether their attention had been drawn to the formation of the Australasian Chamber of Commorce in London and whether it is true, a3 reported, that the Agent-General of this . colony is holding aloof from the organisation -pending instructions from the Government and whether it is the intention of Government, to co-operate with the rest of Australia in this movement. ". V. v. . .; LATE HON. JAS. KEKE. Sir Joseph Ward moved the adjournment of the House as a mark of respect to the. memory of the late Hon. James Kerr. He paid a tribute to the character of the deceased legislator, and said that it was owing to his knowledge as a pressriian and his experience on public bodies that he was in 1892 selected as one of the twelve new appointees to the Council. lir had- ; always been .his aim to do his best for his fellowmen, and it would be some" consolation to members of his family to_ know he left behind him a quiet, dignified'personality, which would be always remembered by his colleagues. Mr James Allen seconded tlje motion, saying the Council sustained-a severe loss by the death of Mr Kerr. .
