The half-yearly meeting of the Wanganui District 1.0.0. F., was held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Friday afternoon. -Pro. G.M. Bro. W. A. Browning occupied the chair, and D.G-.M. Bro.Liddle and O.S. Bro. I Salek were present. The following delegates were also present:— Wanganui—Bros. Wright, Bamber, Martin, and Garner; Palmerston North— Bros. Blake and Watson; Apiti—Bro. Nix_; Mangaweka—Bro. Sherson; Ohingaiti—Bro. Green; Feilding—Bros:Parker and Wilson. The C.S. submitted a lengthy report, dealing with the position of the lodges in the district, and pointing out that while the finances were flourishing, the membership was notincreasing at the rate that is should do. The district balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £139. The total strength of the Wanganui district was shown as :—Members, 524; funds, £10,708. Permission was granted to the Wanganui Lodge to expend the balance of funeral grants upon the beautifying of the graves of several deceased brothers. The Pro. G.M. gave a detailed account of the conference held in Wellington in reference to the establishment of an A.M.C. for New Zealand. He gave notice of motion for the annual meeting (which will be held in Apiti in January next) that it was advisable for tho Wanganui district to join the A.M.C. movement. The question was discussed at length, tho proposal being supported by the Palmerston delegates and being opposed by Wanganui representatives. P.G.s Bro. Wilson and Little were nominated for the office of Pro. G.M., and P.G.s Bros. Shersen and Martin for D.G.M. A levy of 3d to the.sick and funeral fund and Is to the management fund were struck, and a sum of 30s was voted for incidental expenses.
