Wellington, July 29. The Palmerston Painters' Union claims were before the Conciliation Board this morning. An agreement between masters and employers as to the rates of pay for two years is in existence, but the union wants nevertheless to be joined to the Wellington Union as part of the Wellington industrial district. It claims the cost of living las increased in the district since the agreement was entered into. The chairman said the Board would feel very slow about altering an existing agreement.
