ADVANCE OF LORD BOBERTS INTO THE ORANGE FREE STATE.

Wellington, January 15. The Agent-General cables under date, London, 15th February, 2 p.m.'
Major-General French, with Lord Roberts' troops and the cavalry, with the support of two brigades, has crossed the Reit and Modder Rivers, about 20 miles east of the confluence. The movenient looks like an attempt to turn the enemy's position at Magersfonteln, but it may be an indication of & march to Blomfontein.
Later news states that Lord Roberts advances into the Free State.
Five laagers and several drifts over the Reit has now been captured by Major-General French, with whom are the New Zealand troops.
BULLER'S FORCES. General Buller's force has withdrawn to Chieveley, a station on the railway line south of Colenso.
