To-Morrow’s Reception.

A meeting of the General Committee in connection with the Governor’s reception was held last night, the Mayor presiding. The ball and lunch committee reported satisfactory arrangsments were being made. The names of Mr Carkeek and Mr Carey >v«te added to the Committee and after some further discussion the meeting adjourned until to-night at P. Tbe Reception Committee then met. The form of the address to be presented to His Excellency was decided on. The following programme was adopted : (1) The Volunteers will be drawn np on the platform of the station, and on fclie Governor’s arrival they will present arms and the band will play a few bars of "God save the Queen.” (2) The members of the reception committee will present the address. (3) The p oces ion. will then be formed, consisting of the band, tae Governor with the Hussars, forming a guard of honour, members of the reception committee and public officials,the volunteers, the Friendly Societies, the Fire Brigade with the steam fire engine, &2. The proces»ion will march along Alfred street, Market street North, i'-to Highstieet, round Seymour Square to Alfred St, round the Criterion comer, to Market Square. Here a lta ! fc will be mad- and tie children of the Borough and Catholic schools will sing "God »ive the-Queen;” (4) After three cheers have been given the Friendly Societies will presaut their addresses * (5) Ilia Excellency will proceed to the Court House, where he will hold a forge. (6) The lunch wi 1 take place in the T- mp ranee Ha'l, at the cooelu.-ion of the levee, wh.n the Mayor will occupy the chdr. (7.) The Governor will he driven to Massacre Hill, Tua Marina, after the lunch. (8.) The ball, commencing at 9 o’clock, will take place in Ewart’s Hall. A triumphal arch will be erected across the Omaka. bridge with the inscription “ Welcome to Blenheim,” and the station will also be decorated. Mr McArtney was appointed Marshal.
