At Waiwakaiho, Taranaki, on the 20th Dec., Hone Ropiha Te Kekeu, of the Ngatihurukinaki tribe a Chief of Ngamotu, and elder brother of Potakataniwha. During all the wars with the Ngatiawa, Hone ttopiha was never captured. He was a kind fnend to both Europeans and Maones: both races mourn his death.
