His Lordship Bishop VerJon visited this part of his diocese this week and held a continuation service at Ranfurly on Sunday, when 23 candidates were confirmed. A case, which extended over several days, was decided at Duoediu on Wednesday. Win. Harrison sued the Loudon Dental for .C2OOO for damages in connection with drawing his teeth. His case was that owing to carelessness something—probably a part of a tooth—had been allowed to fall down his tiiroat while he was under chloroform, and it had become imbedded in his lungs. The jury returned a verdict for £IOOO damages. The costs amount to over £IOO. Application is to be made for a new trial, on the ground that tbe verdict was against the weight of evidence.
