THE MT. IDA W.R. TRUST.

The monthly meeting of the Mount Ida Water-race Trust was held in the County Council Chambers, Naseby, on Saturday, 31st January, 1891. Present—Messrs. \Y. Guffie, (chairman), Forrester, Hjorring and Mitchell. MINUTES. The minutes of List meeting were read and confirmed on the motion of Mr. Forrester, seconded by Mr. Hjorring. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN. Moved by Mr. Hjorring, seconded by Mr. Mitchell:—That Mr. Guffie be elected chairman of the Trust for the ensuing year.—Carried unanimously. manager's report. The manager reported as under for the month ending January 31 : The water supply during the month has kept up fairly well considering the time of the year and the dryness of the season. The first two weeks in the month I had 10 Government heads coming in, bub since then the supply has been gradually getting less and now I have only six heads landing. Daring

the month I have been obliged to face up a portion of the Spec Gully dam with stone, as the very high winds this season have , worn the sod facing right through. All the labour and carting will be taken out in water, so that the cost will not be felt. The finger-post dam will shortly Jiave to be repaired in the same way. ~ I will also do more of the Spec Gully dam as it is required. —This month I have cleaned ont the Surprise race from the East Eweburn to Chain Gully to supply several claims lately taken up near the racecourse when , water is available. If the water continues falling off I would advise that the head-race be cleaned out about the end of next month. I will consult the Trust ou the matter at the meeting.—The channel is "working fairly well. The lower portion is very full, there not being sufficient water to flush it out. I will have to put a man on next month to sci ub a portiou of it.—The water sold this month amounts to £lls 10s., and the receipts to £142 2s. Id. Received, and that the manager beinstructed to clean out the rice when deemed necessary. FINANCE.
