EIGHT STATE HOUSES FOR LEVIN.
Since the State Housing scheme was first mooted, says the Levin' Chronicle, Mi- C. L. Hunter, M.P., has. been using his best endeavours to ensure that some of the funds available . would be allotted to Levin. His efforts have now borne fruit, as is shown by the foUowing telegram received from the Minister in charge, Hon. J. A. Lee, at midday on Wednesday: —- *. “Pleased to inform you that tenders are being called for the erection of four single houses and two two-house unit at Princess St., Levin, a total of six houses, in three different contracts closing August 9th, 1937 I trust your local builders will give the best price and secure the local job. (Signed) John A. Lee.”
