MOTOR REGISTRATIONS

MUST BE MADE THIS MONTH. Owners of motor vehicles will be required to carry out re-registra-tion of motors as usual before June Ist if such, vehicles are to be used on that date. In this connection a reminder is given .that. the Postal Officials will welcome the filling in of necessary forms at any time now. These forms will then be filed at the Post Office in readiness for the day when motorists return to secure their number plates. All that is then required to do is to pay the necessary fees when the plates are wanted. This system will be found very convenient for all parties concerned, as it obviates all the waiting about when the Post Office staff is busy with a last minute rush.

The Registrar of Motor-Vehicles further advises that all motorvehicles must be re-licensed before June Ist, for the period from that date until May 31st, 1936. White on blue number-plates cannot lawfully be used after the 31st of this month, while the new plates (white on 'bronze-green) are already available, and ownex's are requested to make early application, and so relieve congestion towards the end of the month.; The new number-plates must not be used before June Ist, but it is pointed out that following that date owners using vehicles upon which they are not displayed will be liable to a fine of £2O for each day upon which the vehicle is used. Registration may be earned out at the post office, the business hours being identical with those observed in money-order and savings-bank branches. ‘
