BEACH IMPORVEMENT COMMITTEE.
FORTNIGHTLY EUCHRE AND DANCE.
The fortnightly euchre and dance in aid of the Foxton Beach Improvement Committee was held at the Beach Hall last evening and attracted a good attendance. Prior to the commencement reference was made to the death of Mr Budden, which had occurred at Palmerston North this week. Eulogistic reference was made to deceased, who had taken an active interest in all matters pertaining to the welfare of the beach and a motion of sympathy to the relatives was passed in silence. Prize winners during the evening were as follows: — Euchre: —Ladies: Mrs Collins 1, Miss Ellwood 2. Mystery: Miss Parfitt. Men: Mr Gilmore 1, Mr Coles 2. Mystery: Mr Edwards. Dancing:—Gay Gordons: Mrs Nelson and Mi' Gilniore, jnr., Monte Carlo: Miss Neville and Mr Crawford.
