AIRMAN AT 76.
STILL IN THE COCKPIT. An old man at Bekesbourne, Kent, walks slowly across the aerodrome to an aeroplane, climbs j into the cockpit, and rides smoothly off into the air. ' Mr, R. C. Ramsay, the 76-year-old pilot, flies again. He is the father of Norman lan Ramsay, one of the two voung men killed recently in an aeroplane treasure hunt. His daughters, Honor and Betty, can both fly, but Honor, now Mrs Kenneth Johnson, promised her husband not to fly after marriage. She has kept her promise. Mi 1 . Ramsay has had his pilot’s certificate for six years. “I shall continue to fly, and so will my family,” he said lately. “I believe the air is safer than most other forms of travel. My son’s death was due to the fact that he was not sufficiently experienced.”
