NEW ZEALAND WOOLPACKS.
The Pastoralists’ Association of Western Australia has written to the Canterbury Sheepowners’ Union asking for samples of the new flax woolpack to be forwarded to Perth for experimental purposes, reports the Christchurch “Times.” The letter states that greta interest is taken in the development of these packs as the transport cost for wool, which in some cases was carted hundreds of miles by road, is particularly heavy. If the lightweight packs could be substituted for the present jute ones, a considerable saving in transport costs would result. The secretary of the union stated that steps were being taken for sample packs to be forwai’ded at once.
