FOXTON FIRE BRIGADE FOOTBALL CLUB.
EUCHRE AND DANCE. The weekly euchre and dance organised by the committee of the Foxton Fire Brigade Football Club was held in the Town Hall supper room on Monday evening and proved to be an outstanding success. There was an excellent attendance and a most enjoyable time was spent by all present. The prizes for the euchre were as follows: — Ladies: Mrs W. D. Neville Ist; Mrs E. Bills 2nd; Mrs Roore 3rd. Gents: Mr W. Williams (playing for Mr E. W. Bills) Ist; Mr Gilmore 2nd; Mr R. Nicholson 3rd. During the evening several novelty dances were held and these were won as follows: —Lucky Gay Gordons: Mr R. Nicholson and Mrs Gilmore; Monte Carlo: Mr K. McGregor and Mrs H. McGregor. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs M. A. Ross and Messrs T. Carter and R. Nicholson, extras being played by Miss I. Neville and Mr McMillan.
The following items were also greatly appreciated: —Duet: Mr J. Hirini and Mr McMillan; Maori Rally:.Mr T. Carter and party; haka: by the River Boys; song: Mr Paul.
Dancing was continued to a late hour, the evening finally concluding with the playing of the National Anthem.
