PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
YOUNG PEOPLE’S DAY.
Sunday was Young People’s Day at the local Presbyterian Church and there was an excellent attendance at the evening service when the young people occupied the choir accommodation. The lesson was read by Alex Ebbett and Rev. A. Fotheringham preached an appropriate sermon. The collection was taken up by Linden Knewstubs and Ethel Walls, during which the chjSlidiren contributed an anthem. Solos were, rendered during the service by Beverly Barron and Trevor Everton. ,A very pleasing little ceremony took place on Sunday evening when at the conclusion of the service the members of the Presbyterian choir met for the purpose of wishing Mr M. Baird, a choir member, every happiness on the occasion of his 21st birthday. Mr R. T. Betty, on behalf of the choir, congratulated Mr Baird on having reached his majority. Mr Baird suitably replied and thanked those present for their good wishes. Supper, provided by the ladies, was then partaken of.
