TOWN HALL TALKIES.
One of the most ingenious mystery dramas of the season is “The Crosby Case,” the Universal screenplay at the Town Hall tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. In the role of Scotty Graham, suspected of a murder and apprehended.by the police, Onslow' Stevens remembered as the Jong-suf-fering playwright in “Once in a Lifetime,” displays histrionic abilities of a high order, which makes his character actually live on the screen. Similar praise goes to Wynne Gibson in the principal feminine part of Lynn Ashton, suspected of the same crime. Alan Dinohart is especially convincing as the police inspector, anl other important roles are finely played by Sheets Gallagher, William Collier Sr.j Warren Hymer,. Edward Van Sloan and John Wrav.
The story of “The Crosby Case” deals with the arrest and grilling of four people as suspects in a murder case, but each thinking that he has been jailed for something entirely different. The story ends in a surprise which it would be an injustice to reveal. With “Big Benefit” (musical specialty), “Strange as it Seems,” and two Graham McXamee News Reels.
The popular Grade Fields will be seen on Friday and Saturday in “This Wleek of Grace,” the amusing story of a Lancashire lash in High Society. Grade sings six songs in her latest picture.
