GOLF.
The Herrington golf linlfcs will be officially closed on Saturday, November 3rd. Play on that day will take the form of mixed foursomes and commence at 1 p.m. sharp.
(The ladies closing day at golf was held last Wednesday, competitions were indulged in, the approach and, putt being won by Miss Stern (Shannon) and putting by Miss Bowe and Miss B. Speirs. Afternoon tea was partaken of, after which the captain, Mrs Jagger, gave a resume of the season’s doings and asked Mrs J. H. Robinson (Patroness) to present the trophies. The winners were as follow: —■
The May competitions, Miss Wanldyn; July, Miss Z. Easton; August-, Miss N. Robinson; June and September (combined) Mi’s R. Moore; Silver Medal: Mrs Jagger; bronze medal, Miss Z. Easton; club handicap, Miss N. Robnison; championship, trophy presented by Miss N. Robinson, not completed. A special prize presented by Miss Wanklyn for the greatest reduction in handicap was won by Mrs Noel Robinson. Junior Competitions: — Mrs Thomas and Mi’s Wjoods; eclectic: Miss N. Robinson. >On behalf of the lady members, Mrs Moore expressed thanks to Mrs Robinson for her kindness in allowing the use of the links for play, and asked her to accept a small token of appreciation. Further play brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close.
