A challenging rink skipped by Trueman tried conclusions with Hinds’ rink for the Nye Ferns, and a good battle ensued, the challengers making a good showing in the first part of the game, but later were overhauled, to be finally beaten by a margin of eight points. The rinks and scores were:—
Holders: Chalk, Perreau, Newth, Hinds (s) 21; challengers: Titcombo, Kenney, Christie, Trueman (s) 13. In this game Perreau and Newth substituted for Eruera and Robinson. It was pleasant- to see a new member —Mr Titcombe taking part in such a match early in the season.
