There are seven separate stories in the Gainsborough Picture, “Friday the 13th,” at the Town Hall tonight, and a cast of over twenty stars and players, each a prominent factor in tbe advancement of the various stories. After an accident to the bus, which results in the death of two of the characters, we are taken back and shown a section of the life of these characters leading up to their meeting. Thus they cease to be impersonal figures and become real live entities, the rescreening of the bus sequence at the conclusion of the film being fraluglit with emotional interest. Jessie Matthews, Sonnie Hale, Edmund Gwenn and Gordon Barker head the,big east. Supports include 2nd series “Life of Prince of Wales,” and British News. It’s all aboard for “The Silk Express,” which arrives to-morrow at the Town Hall, loaded with thrills, mystery and suspense. It has a lone Pullman car —the rest of the train being made up of heavilyguarded express ears with millions of dollars’ worth of raw silk —and an all star east of players headed bv Neil Hamilton and Sheila Terry. Others on board include Guy Ivibbee, Arthur Byron, Dudley Digges, Allan Jenkins, Harold Huber, Arthur Hohl, George Pat Collins and Robert Barrat. “The Silk Express” is one of the most colourful mystery stories ever screened. Apart from presenting a most intensely inystifying plot, the picture reveals the interesting facts connected with the handling of raw silk in this country; at Seattle upon its airival from the Orient.
