BOYS’ PREPARATORY SCHOOL.
IMPORTANT LAND PURCHASE,
The sale of Gwvnnelands Estate of 90 acres on the Hamilton Road, three miles from Cambridge, Avas completed on Tuesday, to a former English public schoolmaster, Mr Arthur F. B. Broadhurst, avlio intends establishing a boys’ preparatory school to be the largest of its kind in NeAV Zealand. The initial outlay for land and buildings will be £50,000. The erection of the buildings will he commenced in March. , It is understood that the Rev. W. M. Beaufort, present headmaster of King’s School, Auckland, will be headmaster. Mr Broadhurst Avas formerly a director of Tootal, Broadhurst and Lee, Ltd., of Manchester. GAvynnelands is one of the oldest estates in the district. The homestead which will probably form part of the school, Avas built 54 years ago.
