TOWN HALL TALKIES.

"GEORGE WHITE’S SCANDALS.” Setting a new standard for musical production, Fox Film’s latest release, George White’s "Scandals, opened at the Town Hall last night in all its gorgeous splendor. Presented! for the first time on the talking screen, the show is embellished with the spectacle, grandeur and beauty that only the camera can encompass. White himself enacts a. part in the film, and he has recruited a galaxy of radio, stage and screen stars. Among the many notables in the film are Rudv Val)ec, Jimmy Durante, Alice Faye, Cliff Edwards, Gregory RatoiV, Adrienne Ames, Dixie Dunbar and Gertrude Michael. - Vallec and Faye malice a fine romantic team, and do splendidly with tlmir roles. Miss Faye, who has never been in films before, does an exceptionally fine piece of acting that stamps her as a coining star. The fun-making of Durante, Edwards and Dunbar will have von rolling in the aisles. Ten big song hits with dancing embellishments include romantic? numbers such as “Hold My Hand,’’ and "Ho Nice” —comedy numbers like “Six Women,” sung by “Ukolele Ike, and many others. Altogellmr “Seandals” is truly summed up as the finest musical show the talkies have given us. The first half features are “A Country Girl dty), “Little Boy Blue” and “The A tiilete” (Cartoons), “In Java Seas” (Travel) and the latest lOX British and Overseas News.
