MAORI “KING.”
ANNIVERSARY OF CROWNING,
Hamilton, October 8
During the week-end nearly two thousand Maoris, representing tribes throughout New Zealand, gathered at Waaha Pa, near Huntly, to participate in ceremonies today commemorating the first anniversary of the crowning of the Alaori “King,” Koroki Mahuta te Wherowliero. Hakas, poi dancing, and native ceremonies formed an impressive and colourful pi*ogramrne.
