DISTRESSING TRAGEDY.
HIGH SCHOOL BOY’S SUICIDE,
Rotorua, Feb. 14
A distressing tragedy occurred on Sunday evening when Patrick Burke Berhan, a 16-year-old High School boy, was found lying in a dying condition in the bathroom of his home with a ride beside him. A doctor was immediately summoned and the boy rushed to hospital but he never regained consciousness and died shortly after midnight. The shot was heard by the boy’s step father (Mr F. B. K. McArthur) who rushed in to find the boy dying.
Berhan was a popular lad, a good athlete and of bright disposition.
An inquest was opened to-day for identification purposes and adjourned sine die.
