A young albino sparrow lias aroused much interest among residents of Mangaiti, where it has been seen almost daily. The bird is creamy white in colour and has no marking. Each day it is to be seen with the parent birds flying round a homestead. People naturally have taken a keen interest in the freak, and every endeavour is being made to encourage it to become tame enough for closer inspection to be made.
