FOXTON CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

INAUGITLVL MEET INTI. On Thursday evening delegates from the various local cricket clubs met at Walls’ rooms when it was decided to form a cricket association for the purpose of controlling the game locally. It was decided that, the association be known as the Koxton Cricket Association. Those present at the meeting were Messrs Nicol and Bennett (Oman Downs), FT. Hutchins, It. Rangilieuea (Koxton Cricket ‘Club), G. Woods, K. Tlirini (Druids Club), IT. Reid and .). 'Newton (Foxlon Fire Brigade Club). Air TT. Hutchins was voted to Ihe chair. Mr 11. Hutchins was elected chairman of the association and it was decided that the committee comprise the delegates mentioned above.

After a general dismission on the matter of liuanee it was decided that nomination fee be A/- per team.

The Oruita Downs delegates advised that on Saturday week they would in all probability be able to enter two teams for competition. They also staled that the Oroua Downs Club imw bad a 'membership of 25.

Delegates reported that Foxlon, Druids, and the Fire Brigade clubs would Held one team each. The Druids delegates handed over the 0. E. Austin Shield which was presented to the Foxlon Cricket Club in 1907. On that: club going into recess the shield had been taken care of hv Mr G. to ley who, on hearing of the revival of cricket locally, had generously handed the trophy to the Association for competition with the stipulation that in the event of cricket being dropped locally the shield should revert to him.

It was decided lo agree to this and the secretary was instructed lo write Mr Coley thanking him for his gift.

T 1 was decided to commence the competition for the shield on Saturday, 24th November, and that two rounds he played (three if possible) the round to he a day match. It was resolved that all matches start at 12.30 p.m. and finish at 1.15 p.m. al the earliest and not later than 4.30 p.m. on account of eountrv clubs.

Tt was decided that, points hr counted ns follows: —

• A win by an.innings and runs, 5 points. A straight out win, 3 points. A tie, one point for each team. A default to count as a straight out win. FIXTURES FOR FIRST ROUND. November 28th:- — Foxton v.
