Me. Katie, Government Auditor, is a! present visiting Foxton in connection with local body affairs. The death occurred yesterday al bis residence, Palmerston North, of Air. Hugh McGregor, an early resident of the district. The bite Mr. McGregor was a native of Helensburgh, Glasgow, and came out to the Dominion when a lad. lie llrst settled in the Otago district and la - ter came north to the Alanawatn. Mr. A. Fee met with an injury while working at Mr. J. F. Riches' slaughter yards on Thursday evening. He was cutting down a carcass when the knife slipped and severely gashed bis left -wrist. He received medical alfention when it was found necessary to insert several stitches. Mr. Clulha Mackenzie, director of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, left bv the Niagara to represent Now Zealand at a world conference on wink for the blind. In be held in New York from April 13 to 30. The (-(inl'ereiiee, which will be attended by representatives of 35 countries, is being- convened by the American Eoiimlal ion for (lie Blind, the invitations being issued by President Hoover. It is the first, of its kind since the International Conference held in London in 1914. Air. Mackenzie will be accompanied by Mr. 11. B. Morton, who will travel in an unofficial capacity.
