GOLF.
RETURN MATCH WITH SHANNON. The Shannon Golf Club played a return match with the local club on the Herrington links on Saturday afternoon in ideal yveather. Shannon again carried off the honours, although several of the local players were unable to take part in the game. At the conclusion Mr. Jones, on behalf of the visitors, thanked the local club for the pleasant time spent and the hospitality accorded. Mr. A. P. Easton, in the unavoidable absence of the president (Mr. Bergin), said it yvas always a pleasure to meet the Shannon Club. He regretted the unavoidable absence of several of the local players. The games resulted as follows, Shannon players being mentioned first; — Ladies. —-Mrs. Saxton beat Miss Neylon; Miss Morgan beat Mrs. A. P. Easton; Miss Sinclair beat Miss Robinson; Miss Dillon beat Mrs. Austin; Mrs. Moynihan beat Mrs. Neyvton; Miss Jones lost to Mrs. Walton. Men. —Mr. Gagliardi .beat Mr. Roach; Mr. Jones beat Mr. Easton; Mr. Saxton beat' Mr. Shirley; Mr. Stern beat Mr. Ross; Mr. Blackyvood beat Mr. Neyvton; Mr. Cronquest lost to Mr. Walton; Mr. Franks lost to Mr. Mason;*Mr. Stevenson lost to Mr. Christie.
