Wellington, Sept. 27,

The steamer Ulimaroa, which ar■rived from Sydney on Saturday, is receiving special attention, in case she may be a source of infection. She was berthed yesterday mornin", and was taken into the stream again in the evening. ’ This course will be followed daily while she is in port to prevent rats from getting ashore during the night. Five rats caught were examined by the Government Bacteriologist, but all were free from plague infection.
