“REGAN’S DAUGHTER.”
The programme at the Town Hall to-night will be headed by the Vitagraph Company’s powerful and interesting'drama, “Regan’s Daughter.” The story concerns,the life of a man who has a daughter whom he worships. Through unfortunate uicii instances he is known as a bad political man. He is also the enemy of a detective named Phillip Reardon. Mary Regan lives away in Tennessee, and is the favourite of the district, Phillip Reardon, the detective, who is away on a holiday, meets Mary Reagan, not knowing who she is, and becomes enamoured of her. He is recalled to New York to work on a case that will place Regan, “The Boss,” on trial for murder. On his road he meets her father coming to see her, and arrests him. The conclusion is filled with dramatic surprises. The supporting Items include a Keystone comedy, topical films, and other pictures of merit. MONDAY AND TUESDAY. The star item for Monday and Tuesday is a thrilling war drama, “A Question ol Courage.” A soldier’s widow and her three sous comprise a happy family. War is declared, and the mother bravely decides to give her three sous to her country. Her two eldest sons are killed in action. Her grief takes possession ot her. She tells her youngest sou if be continues she will shoot herself. He deserls, and is arrested and tried for cowardice. Despite the mother's confession, he is to be shot. The remainder of the story is realistic and beautiful. Among the list of first-class supporting items is a Keystone comedy, featuring Roscoe Arbuckle and Mabel Normand, “Fatty, Mabel and the Law.”
