HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
SPRING SHOW. 25TH. AND
26m INSTS.
The above Society’s Spring Show will be held in the Town Hall on Thursday and -Friday, 25th and 26th insts. Catalogues and entry forms may be obtained on application to the secretary, Mr H. C. Patterson. Entries close at 10 p.m. next Tuesday, 23rd Inst., late entries up to 9 p.ra. the night before the show. The trophies and special prizes this year, apart from the Society’s awards, are on a very liberal scale indeed, and should attract a record number of entries. Easton’s trophy, 3 roses, named (to be won three times) ; Mr G. H. Stiles’ trophy, value 10s 6d, most points in sweet pea section; Society’s trophy, value £5 ss, sweet pea section ; Mr A. Fraser’s special, ss, most points in truit section ; Messrs Barraud and Abraham’s special, Sutton’s seeds, value ros 6d, vegetable section; Mr A, J. Shailer’s special, value ros 6d, collection vegetables; Mr G. H. Stiles’ trophy, to be won three times, cookery class; Miss L. Woodroofe’s special, ss, cookery class; Mrs Renton’s trophy, value ss, cookery class ; Mrs jas. Robinson’s special, ros, cookery class ; Mr F. O. Smith’s special, ros 6d, cookery class; Mr A. Fraser’s special, 53, most points in home industries; Mr J. B. Gerrand’s trophy, value 10s 6d, decorative class; Mrs Freeman’s specials, ros 6d, decorated table ; Mr A. S.
