Sydney, January 7. The Herald’s final estimate of the New South Wales wheat yield is 25 yi million bushels, an average of 14 bushels to the acre. The Broken Hill Block tin mine closes on Saturday owing to shortage of coal, rendering 500 men idle, making 1500, with those already idle through the closing of the south mine. Melbourne, January 7. The owners of the steamer Wakefield, leaving Durban for Adelaide at the end of the month, offer to undertake the Waratah search for ,£3OOO. The Mt. Lyall returns from December 2 to 29 inclusive are as follows: — 17,934 tons of ore, also nine tons of purchased ore, were treated, aud yielded 559 tons of blister copper, containing 582 tons of copper, 46,502 ounces of silver and 100 ounces ol gold.
