MEDICAL INSPECTION OF SCHOOL CHILDREN.
Dunedin, October 22
At a meeting of the Education Board this morning, a letter was received from the South Taieri Committee ■-tatiug that it had appointed Dr. Ross Collier honorary medical officer to their school, with power to visit, inspect, and report on the health of the children. The appointment was made by the unanimous vote of the committee aud endorsed by the parents at a public meeting. The committee requested the board to endorse the appointment. The matter was deferred till next meeting, the board in the meantime to satify itself as to whether it was competent for it to make such au appointment.
