ELTON COMEDY COMPANY.

Speaking of the Elton Company which appears here to-night, an exchange says:—“The Elton Comedy Company have no cause of complaint on the ground of lack of patronage on their return visit, for on each of the two nights of their season they were greeted by a very fair-sized audience, who gave ample evidence of appreciation of the fare provided for their entertainment. During the two and a half hours each performance lasted there was a continuous ripple of laughter, that at times grew into almost uncontrollable outbursts. The members ot the company proved themselves to be exceptionally versatile. Miss Elton showed that she isau accomplished player on quite a variety of instruments, and her bell-ringing and trick violin playing were particularly clever. Mr Elton and Miss Eltou caused much merriment with their comic sketches, the former’s by-play being very droll. Mr Johnston executed a couple of dances in a manner that proved him to be an adept in the clogs. The many pictures displayed wer clear and of good variety, some being very pathetic and tragic, while others were provocative of uproarious laughter.”
