THE ROWING CLUB.
IT is very disappointing to learn that little or no interest is being taken in the local Rowing Club. The annual meeting had to be postponed recently owing to there not being sufficient present to form a quorum. I,ast night scouts were sent out to beat up a sufficient number in order to prevent the meeting again lapsing. It is incomprehensible why, with every facility for a successful rowing club, such a lack of enthusiasm is evinced by local young men. The Club is possessed ol a number of racing and pleasure boats, and will commence the season with a credit balance of upwards of Our river is an ideal one for this pleasurable recreation, yet the majority of the members do not take sufficient interest in their assets to properly care for the boats after using them. There is a screw loose somewhere. We hope the new Committee will thoroughly review the whole situation when it meets, and endeavour to set the Club on a more satisfactory footing.
