Manawatu Rabbit Extermination Society.
Tho adjourned annual meeting of the above Society was held at the Oroua Downs Homestead on Thursday at 2 p.m. Present — Messrs F. Robinson (chairman), McKelvie, Amon, W. Robinson Gifford, McL?nnan (hon. sec), W. Barbar, and the Inspector, Mr A. K. Blundell. The balance sheet was read from which it showed that since 10th Oct., 1892, date of last meeting that the Society had paid for 10,258 skins at a cost of £254 8s lid. The total receipt for the year had been £267 3s which leaves a balance at credit of Society of £12 14s Id. Mr Barber proposed that the balance sheet as road ba adopted. Seconded by Mr W. Robinson and carried. On the motion of Mr F. Robinson, seconded by Mr W. Robinson the following were re-elected on the Committee for the ensuing year, Messrs F. Robinson (chairman), H. Barber, T. Gifford, J. R. McLennan, W. Hunter, D. Scott, T. MacKenzie. R. B. MacKenzie, A. Amon, B. Gower. and W. G. Robinson. Also that Messrs J. McKelvie, A. Strang and W. Barber be added. — Carried. Proposed by Mr J. R. McLennan, seconded by A. Amon, That one shilling be paid for full grown rabbits and sixpence for runners ; that individual owners take their own rabbits giving orders on Secretary of Society in payment ; payments ro be only made at a general meeting hold on a given day, the first such day to be Saturday, 31st March, 1894.— Carried. Proposed by Mr F. Robinson, seconded by Mr J. McKelvie, That the usual rate of 2s per 100 acres or part of 100 acres be made.— Carried. After various discussions on minor details, reading of correspondence and committee meetings, the meeting adjourned with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
