BALLOT FOR "LINK WATER
DALE" SECTIONS.
"Linkwuter Dale" is the first property rendered available ior soitlier settlement as the result of the operations of the Marlborough Land Purcti.-ise- Beard. The land is described ns first-cia&s and suitable for dairying. There has been a good deal of soldier settlement in the Grove district, and the ballot for these sections is expected to command considerable attention.
"Linkwa.ter Dale." comprising 450 acres, was acquired from Mrs Gregg. It da situated an the low neck between P'Oloriis and Queen Charlotte Sounds, about '2\ miles from a well-established cheese factory. Access is from Havelock by a bad road, and from Picton by launch to the Grove and then for 1% miles by good road. The property has been subdivided into six sections ranging from 62$ acres to 93 acres. The capital value of the latter section is £2345 and the .highest capital value is £3250, with (half-yearly rents ranging from £52 15s 3d to £73 2s 6d.
Applications will close with the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Blenheirr,, on Tuesday, ■'September 7th, and the ballot will take place after the examination of applicants.
