WELLINGTON, Aug. 4. In the Supreme Court yesterday, before Mr Justice Chapman, Agnes Miza Mepham pleaded not guilty to a charge of murdering her infant child at Porirua.
After evidence had been given, tho jury retired for an hur and brought in a verdict of not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter, with a strong recommendation to mercy. The prisoner was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment.
