SHOOTING FATALITY.
SAD OCCURENCE AT BERWICK,
j The sad discoveiy was made yes-tn-day evening that Mr Alfred beoi-ge Mills, a son of Mr and Mrs A. G. Mills, of Jiemvic-ktown, had met with a. fatal accident'while out rabbit-shooting. The deceased, who was 33 3-ears of age, and unmarried, was a carpenter by trade, and he lived withL his parents at their farm near tan township. He leit home at about 11 o'clock yesterday with a pea rifle and two dogs, and, his prolonged absence causing some anxiety, his hither went to look for, him. At about six o'clock in the- evening Mr Mills discovered the dead body of hi* fcon caught up by the arm and leg in a aenco running across Mr Johji Loiys property, near Mr Mills'* place. The pea, rifle and a, dead rabut were lying on the* ground, and tJxe indications wore that the deceased slipped as lie was getting tlirough vhe wires, and his weight commg on to the weapon caused it to explode. The bullet entered the nead just above the right ear. The» deceased was slightly disabled in th© leg as the result of a wound he received while on active service in r ranee.
J he body was conveyed to the resiuence of th© parents, and the Coroner tvas to hold an inquest there to-day.
