M. Painleve, ex-Premier of' France, en route to China, was interviewed. Be said that the United States should participate morally and map terially in the development of intellectual relations with China. M. Painleve added that the United States, owing to .her geographical l-ositibn, was destined to serve as a link between Europe and Asia.
