Mr W. McLaughlin, secretary of the Excelsior Lodge of Druids and secretary of the Wellington Friendly Societies Medical Institute^is visitiag Blenheim. ,

Mr and Mi's R. P. Goulter and family will take their departure for England by the Corinthic, leaving Wellington on the 28th 'inst. It is their intention to make a world tour, returning to New Zealand via Suez.

A letter from a passenger on the Ulimaroa concerning the sudden death of Mr GL Allport, while on the vessel's last trip from Wellington to Sydney, states that on Sunday, March 28th, after dinner Mr Allport went down to his cabin to procure a magazine, and returned to the social hall. He had just made himself comfortable, when he died suddenly. It is understood that tbe body is to be buried in Sydney, and that Mrs Allport intends to return to Wellington. -
