TIMARU, Nov. 20. The Smith Canterbury Jockey Club's spiring meeting opened to-day in fine but threatening weather. There was a good attendance. Results :—
' Hurdles: Golden Prince (10.6) 1, San Sebastian (11.1) 2, Gay Light (10.3) 3. Scratched: Kirnbolton, Jack Symonsy and Leaping Burn. Won by a neck. Time, 2min. 50 2-ssec. Spring Stakes: Some Kid (8.8; 1, Foo Chow (8.8) 2, Belgian King (8.8) 3. Scratched: Sembric. , Won by thiree lenghts. Time, lmin. 2 l-ssec. Teschemaker Memorial Handicap: Bcnnetter (8.1) 1, St. Winnow (7.0) 2, John Barleycorn (7.4) 3. All started. Won by a kngth. Time, 2min. 7 l-ssec.
