AUCKLAND, Jan. 15
No petition has as yet been lodged, against the election of Mr C J. Parr for Eden. The returning officer is of opinion that yesterday was the last d&y on which it could be lodged; but tihose who contemplate lodging it have a different opinion.
Should the petition be lodged to-day the returning officer-states that he will take legal advice before accepting or refusing it.
