DESTRUCTION BY FIRE
[Pbebh Association.] HAWERA, March 23. The offices of J. E. Roe, architect, situated' in a two-storey.. building, were gutted by fire yesterday afternoon. Nothing -in the office was insured, and Roe is the loser of valuable records worth many pounds. J. C. Gillett, draper, who oocupied premises underneath, had his stock damaged by water. The building was owned by D. Barry, and was insured r o^ £1000 in the Commercial Union Office, and Gillett's stock was insured for £1500 in the State Office, and for £950 in the-Commercial Union.
j .WELLINGTON, Mardh 23. Last night a fire occurred in a, nine- ! roo^«l dwelling and stationer's shop 1 Street, occupied by George p ■ Woodward. The shop and contents were very badly damaged. The stock was insured for £400 in the Royal I fc.xcha.nge Office, and tho contents' of ! the dwelling for £100. The building - was insured for £400 in tho Com- ! mercial Union. ' '
