On April 24th the residence -of Captain Ore, of Woollahra was burgled, and jewellery to the value*>l Yesterday evening the two Misses Cox were alone in the house, therr brother Roy ; aged 16 years, having iust previously left. She refused and struck the intruder, who knocked her down. Her sister came to her assistance, and a lengthy struggle ensued, in which the sisters .received several wounds about their heads and bodies. They managed to belabor the burglar, but eventually •tjhe intruder overcame the sisters, and. each handed over her ring. The man then decamped. _ ... Earlier in the night a man named Leggatt was driving along Belmore Road, when two masked men jumped out on him. One seized the bridle, while the other, presenting a revolver, demanded money. ; Leggatt handed over £30, and, jumping out of the buggy, started to run. , „ , One of the highwaymen aired, ■wounding him in the arm. Both then decamped. A sensational development occurred to-day, when a-man named Laurence and Roy Cox were arrested and remanded' on a charge of committing '.the robbery on April 24th. The arrests were the result of -a confession by Roy Cox that he arranged with Laurence to rob his sisters yesterday. He also confessed, that he and (Laurence stuck up Leggatt, by whom •young Cox was employed until a few days. ago. Cox held the horse while Laurence robbed and shot Leggatt.

The police found the missing rings, :and a revolver with' one chamber discharged, in Laurence's room.

(Received June 20, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 20. (Leggatt states that £70 of his employer's money was in his possession when he was stuck up. He leaped out of the buggy without surrendering any of the money, and ran away. Three shots were fired ait him, but his wound in the arm is not serious. Thas afternoon Roy Cox and Laurence were jointly charged with assaulting and [robbing the Misses Cox.
