COMPLIMENTARY LUNCHEON.
On returning to Blenheim from Ward yesterday, the Minister accepted an invitation to lunch from the members.of the Wairau Women's Political Reform League, provided at the Loloma Tea Rooms. Over 4.5 ladies were present, besides a number of members of the Men's League. After partaking of a first-class repast, the lady members, as the hostesses, plied the Minister with numerous questions, to all 4 of which he gave satisfactory answers. One question in particular caused great amusement. The Minister was asked by one of the ladies present how long he thought the time would be'before she would be able to travel by train to Kaikonra, as\she was very anxious to see that little township. The reply was that he would do equal lustice' to Marlborough with other districts
The'company then broke up, and the Minister was escorted by several members of the Men's League to the railway station, where he took his departure by special train for Picton at 3.15 o'clock.
