MILTON, June 19. The Hon. James Allen was welcomed in his own constituency. Speaking on naval defence, Mr Allen declared that New Zealand should not discontinue the practice of paying a to the Mother Country, but there was more to do after that. The time had come when' New Zealaoiders should be educating themselves to ,tha responsibilities of a young nation coming to manhood some day, arid make an effort at the same time to train their own personnel. .
